Osama Khatlan is a distinguished Iraqi-born artist with a rich career spanning several decades. Born on July 1, 1954, in Iraq, Khatlan has exhibited his work internationally, with solo and group exhibitions in New York City, London, and Amsterdam. Some of his notable exhibitions include the 2022 Biennale of Amsterdam, solo exhibitions at the CANNY Gallery in NYC (2013, 2019), and the Iraqi Cultural Center in London (2015). He has also showcased his work in prestigious galleries like Pomegranate Gallery and Agora Gallery in NYC. Khatlan’s artistic journey extends beyond exhibitions; he has also made significant contributions as an illustrator. His works include The Magic Mirror (2022), published on Amazon, as well as illustrations for New York City Get-A-Grip Gripe (1995-1997) and Orthodontics by Alberto Armenio (1999-2000). He is pursuing a degree in animation at BMCC (2021-2024) and has studied at the School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute in NYC. Khatlan’s education also extends to Italy, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts and the Florence State Art Institute, earning a degree in advertising, photography, and color representation. Khatlan’s work has been recognized with awards, including the second prize at Romania's 2023 International Hummer competition. He has been a member of the Foreign Press Association since 2000
